Week 11: What kind of owner are you?

Welcome back and to week 11 of the NFL season. I was looking through my league recently and was trying to figure out who would actually take a trade and those who are loyal to their drafted team. I stumbled upon this video that sums it up pretty well.

What kind of fantasy football owner are you? Check out this video by +Dude Perfect about Stereotypes in Fantasy Football. It is a perfect example and will link some of your friends to these names. Enjoy!

Back to the good stuff! Here are my predictions for Week 11 of football!

MVP: Russell Wilson (SEA)
Haven't been a fan of Wilson in past weeks but going up against the worst pass defense (MIN), the return of P. Harvin, and the hot streak the Seahawks are currently on, Wilson is bound for a big game.
Prediction: 250 yards, 3 TD's

Bust: Julius Thomas (DEN)
For being arguably one of the best TE's in the league this year, Kansas City absolutely SHUTS DOWN TE's. They have yet to give up a TD to a TE all year and have given up an average of 3.7 catches and 35 yards per game. Don't expect a huge game from Thomas.
Prediction: 2 catches, 20 yards, 0 TD

Sleeper by position:
  • QB: Case Keenum (HOU): He has been syncing well with Andre and throwing it deep. Great fantasy start especially with the lack of the running game.
  • RB: Andre Brown (NYG): Still only owned by 67% of ESPN leagues, Brown had a great debut and wthe Giants are rolling. Smart start.
  • WR: Riley Cooper (PHI): Cooper has 5 TD's in the past two games and has been syncing with Foles. Start him against WSH.

Bold Prediction: Andre Johnson (HOU) will catch 10 passes for 150 yards and 2 TD's.

Fantasy Football Tattoo League

There are always those 1 or 2 people in your league that are there for the draft and that is the last you see of them. EVERYONE hates those people. If you sign up for the league, at least check it once a week so there's competition whether that be points, trades, or waiver pick-ups. Well in this extreme type of league that is being shared virally and being talked to on ESPN and various talk shows; you will make sure you don't get last place.
So here's how it works. Adam, the owner of a team called "Bieber's Entourage" in the Tattoo League sums it up:

"Whoever loses gets a tattoo of the winner's choosing," he explains. "The only thing that the loser gets to choose is where the tattoo is placed on their body."

Simple right? I forgot to mention these guys take it to the extreme by even signing a legal contract to ensure that no one backs out and doesn't carry through with the promise. But don't be confused, the league is not set up for people to try not getting last. Of course there's a perk of winning, some leagues have $20 buy ins, others have apartment chores for a month, but the winner of the Tattoo League gets to choose what tattoo design gets inked on the loser at the end of the year. Whatever he or she choses. Scary right? Are you sure you would still be interested in this? Take a look at this 2-part interview with the guys and Jay Leno as they explain the concept more in depth.

So if you think you really are the best in your league, go ahead, join a league similar to this. And if you don't think your mediocre 3-7 team would hold up against these guys... I'd stick with the league you're in and lose $20 instead of having to live with these tattoos for the rest of your life:
Well that's it for the Tattoo League, hope your enjoyed the videos and maybe we'll see you and your friends online with ridiculous tattoos in a couple years.

Mid-Season Awards

After taking a week off on the blog and focusing on Twitter questions, NFL Fantasy Hub is back with Mid-Season Awards for the 2013 NFL Fantasy Season. Earlier in the year we had Quarterly Awards, now let's see how close are they are, or see if someone emerged as the front runner in a certain category. All stats and scoring will be used from ESPN Standard Scoring and will not consider auction information. Stats are through week 9.

First, here is a LINK to NFL.com and the Top 10 Plays of the Midseason.

* Awards *
MVP- Who has been the most impressive thus far in the NFL season?
Underdog- Which player has evolved into a stud that was under the radar?
Mr. Consistent- Week in and week out, who has produced?
Flop of the Year- Which "Stud" is on the back burner on most rosters?
All-Fantasy Team- The top QB, 2 RB's, 2 WR's, TE, D/ST, and K this year.

MVP - Peyton Manning (DEN)
Season stats: 2,919 yards, 29 TD's, 6 INT's
Manning has had a stellar year in Denver as he is leading his team to a playoff spot and possible #1 seed.  With a total of 215 ESPN fantasy points, he is 33 points above the 2nd QB.
Underdog - Julius Thomas (DEN)
Season stats: 39 catches, 451 yards, 8 TD's
Thomas emerged Week 1 for the Broncos and never let up, minus an injury week. He became Manning's #2 target, behind Welker and has been a solid start week in and week out.
Mr. Consistent - Jimmy Graham (NO)
Season stats: 49 catches, 746 yards, 10 TD's
With the disappearance of Coleston and Sproles in New Orleans, Graham has remained the most reliable target for Drew Brees. Might have had a competition with Gronk if healthy, but for now, Graham has the nod for Mr. Consistent.
Flop of the Year - Ray Rice (BAL)
Season stats: 259 yards, 3 TD's
With the 4th overall pick you probably chose Ray Rice. Of course you could not have predicted what Rice has NOT produced but he has hands down been the bust of 2013.
All-Fantasy Team
QB - Peyton Manning (DEN)
RB - Jamal Charles (KC)
RB -Matt Forte (CHI)
WR -Calvin Johnson (DET)
WR - Wes Welker (DEN)
TE - Jimmy Graham (NO)
D/ST - Chiefs
K -Stephen Gostkowski (NE)
